1. Introduction & Scope
Signal Bioscience, Inc. ("Signal Bioscience," "we," "us," or "our") is a molecular diagnostics company developing Signal Chemistry — a PCR architecture decoupling amplification from signal generation. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit signalbioscience.com and its subdomains (collectively, the "Site").
We act as a data controller for personal information collected through our Site.
By using our Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
- Contact form submissions: first name, last name, email address, organization, inquiry type (Assay Development, Technology Partnership, Investor Inquiry, Media/Press, Other), and optional message content. The contact form is delivered through HubSpot's V2 form embed; submissions route to our HubSpot CRM.
- Email correspondence: content and metadata of messages you send to us
- Business inquiries: information provided during sales conversations or service requests
Information Collected Automatically
- Device and browser data: device type, operating system, browser type and version, screen resolution
- Network data: IP address, approximate geographic location (city/region level)
- Usage data: pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URL (collected via Vercel Analytics — see Section 5 for details on the privacy-respecting nature of this collection)
- Cookies and similar technologies: as described in Section 4 below
Information From Third-Party Platforms
When you submit our contact form, HubSpot may collect data through its own tracking technologies (see Section 5). When our Site is loaded, Cloudflare may collect limited technical data to deliver bot protection and security services.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide requested information
- Analyze website performance, understand user behavior, and improve the Site
- Communicate with you about Signal Bioscience products, technology updates, and partnership opportunities you have expressed interest in
- Prevent fraud and protect the security of our Site (Cloudflare Turnstile, bot detection)
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate, analyze, and improve our Site. We use a cookie consent banner (powered by vanilla-cookieconsent) to give you granular control over which categories load. The table below describes the categories of cookies we use.
| Category | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Cloudflare | DDoS protection, performance optimization, bot detection (Turnstile) | Session – 30 days |
| Essential | HubSpot | Contact form delivery (information you provide via the /contact page; required for form submission) | Session – 13 months (HubSpot default) |
| Essential | vanilla-cookieconsent | Stores your cookie preference choice so the banner doesn't reappear on every visit | 6 months |
| Analytics | Vercel Analytics | Aggregate page-view counts, traffic sources, and Core Web Vitals. Vercel Analytics is privacy-first and does not use cookies for cross-site tracking. Data is aggregated and anonymized. | Cookieless |
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
- On our Site: click the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer to revisit the consent banner and change your selection at any time. You may also clear your cookie preference cookie via your browser to trigger a fresh consent prompt.
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings menu
- HubSpot: HubSpot's tracking is documented at HubSpot Privacy Policy. You can opt out of HubSpot's marketing cookies via their preference center.
5. Third-Party Platforms
Vercel Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our Site. Vercel Analytics collects aggregated, anonymized data including page views, traffic sources, and Core Web Vitals. It is privacy-first by design — no cross-site tracking, no advertising IDs, and no cookies for tracking. See Vercel's Privacy Policy and Vercel Analytics Privacy documentation.
HubSpot
Our contact form is delivered via HubSpot's V2 form embed. When you submit the contact form, your inquiry data (first name, last name, email, organization, inquiry type, optional message) is transmitted to our HubSpot CRM. HubSpot acts as a data processor on our behalf for this transaction. See HubSpot's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare
Our Site uses Cloudflare for performance optimization, DDoS protection, and bot detection (Cloudflare Turnstile). Cloudflare processes limited technical data to deliver these security services. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Vercel (Hosting)
Our Site is hosted on Vercel's edge network. Vercel processes server logs (including IP addresses for the duration of a request) to deliver content and protect against abuse. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

- Vercel Analytics data: retained per Vercel's default retention (typically up to 12 months, aggregated)
- Email correspondence: retained as long as reasonably necessary for business and legal purposes
